As part of the Bleu Jay project for the construction of a new tissue production plant, MACO was responsible for the installation of the tissue machine and other peripheral work.
- Assembly and installation of the new tissue machine no. 4.
- Installation of auxiliary equipments.
- Supply and installation of piping for auxiliary systems.
- Assistance with start-up and commissioning.
Specifically, the work included the following items
- A VALMET tissue machine with 2 TAD dryer rolls (2x 70 tons) and a Yankee (1 x 98 tons)
- Yankee dryer
- TAD system including 2 burners, 2 fans and ducts
- Process ventilation system including all fans, cyclones, ducts and silencers
- Roll packaging and handling system
- 12,000 linear feet of piping
- 65 pieces of mechanical equipments
- 8 white water tanks

Innovative aspects
- 98 T Yankee installed by combining an overhead crane with standard lifting equipment.
- Critical lifts controlled in real time via a load cell interface connected to the overhead crane.
